A Study of Calcium Phosphate Ceramic Fiber Chen Xiaoming; Yan Yuhua; Luo Zebo (Biomedical Material and Engineering Centre, WUT, Wuhan 430070,China)Calcium phosphate ceramic fiber is made by means of precursor technique and studied by SEM and XRD. The results show that:When the Na-Alg (sodium alginate) /Na4P2O7 Weight ratio is below 2. 8,the fiber consists of pure HAP which Ca/p ratio is near 1. 67 and β-TCP,the quantity of HAP increases with the increase of the ratio,When that ratio is more than 2. 8,it mainly consists of HAP and contains a few of DHAP (defective hydroxyapatite )with Ca/P ratio is less than 1. 67. The sintered fibers consisting of abundant HAP and a few DHAP at 1100:C. β-TCP which comes from the decomposition of DHAP can be observed, and β-TCP can be transformed completely into stable α-TCP above 1200℃.: calcium phosphate; fiber; ceramic; synthesize
